Faith Formation Ministry
“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Mt 28:19-20)
Faith formation starts early in life when mom and dad by their example form the child in the way of life as a Christian. It continues in a more formal way as one approaches school age. Faith formation is particularly important as one receives the various sacraments and they grow to maturity in the faith. However even then it does not end. Faith formation is a lifelong process. We are always called to deepen our knowledge of the faith and our relationship with God, even in our elderly years.
The work of faith formation is not exclusively the responsibility of paid staff. It is the work of every disciple of Christ. Luke tells us that Jesus appointed seventy two others and sent them ahead of him to reach out and evangelize. So he sends each of us as well.
